Journey Stories

Every life is a collection of individual “journey stories.” We love these journey stories because we can see ourselves in the travelers. Their successes and failures can help us find our own way through life.

I love the deep simplicity of this statement. Whether participants, onlookers, or the traveler ourselves, we each voyage through countless journey stories, big and small, during our lifetimes. I believe many of these journey stories feed our inner desire to love and be loved. These journey stories also inspire and motivate us; they give us perspective and, often, even the courage to persevere.

There are many who have travelled with us on this journey, and there are many others who can relate to our experience. With this in mind, we decided to make the announcement to our families by inviting them to continue with us on our journey. Since the baby is due at Thanksgiving, we invited our families to “grow” along with us by giving them herbs to nurture and then enjoy at their Thanksgiving feasts this year (as we enjoy our new little one).

Along with the herbs, we wrote and attached the follwing poem.

Musings on Spring

The dark night of winter has passed,
How deep its icy gloom.
Fresh life awakens from slumber,
Bringing forth springtime’s bloom.

With nurture and time, new life grows;
Once barren, now living.
Grow as we grow, life of your own,
To share this Thanksgiving.
